Prue Stent & Honey Long

“Working in photography, sculpture, performance, and installation, the Australian artists Honey Long and Prue Stent create evocative statements about feminine stereotypes. Seemingly improvised in bleak settings like freeways and deserts, their images often depict otherwise nude bodies covered in swathes of colorful fabric or leaves. Their works draw on Surrealist themes such as the headless body, challenging ingrained associations between femininity and passivity. Long and Stent began collaborating as teenagers, in 2010, foraging thrift stores for props. They continue to embrace play and chance in their process.”
